I started this blog because somehow, I wanted to put in writing and share what God usually tells me. I haven’t written a lot, not because He hasn’t told me anything yet, nor is it because I’m not listening to Him very well.

The thing is, He’s been telling me so many things, but I’m not able to write them down. Why?

Because He talks to me a lot. Especially when I’m doing something so routine that my brain feels blank. It’s so routine that I didn’t need to think about anything. Then I begin to think about something because He’s talking to me.

He tells me about what I should write while I’m washing dishes, taking a shower, or even when I’m driving by myself or with the toddler sleeping. He tells me things while I’m ironing clothes, or preparing what I’ll be cooking, or even while I’m cooking!

In short, He tells me what to write when I am not able to get a pen and paper and write them down as soon as it gets inside my head. He catches me off guard. But the good thing about it is that, because my mind is blank, it is so open to new ideas, and new guidance from the Holy Spirit.

There are times, when I remember it, that I get to record myself talking, as thoughts get in my head. At least with a recording, I can just play it again, then transcribe it. (So that’s why God gave me transcription jobs before…)

So when you find yourself doing something so routine and therapeutic, be sensitive to hear God’s voice. It’s usually in the form of good ideas: loving, helpful, and reflective ideas, that perhaps He wouldn’t want you to keep to yourself, but share with others.

And, yes, please don’t keep it to yourself. You never know, someone actually needs to read or hear what God told you. And most likely, He really intended the message for someone else, and He picked you to tell it. I guess that’s what I also believe. That in everything I write, He picked me to tell His message.

So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
